Children’s Programmes

Our children’s programmes are designed to support children holistically. We aim to develop their literacy skills, life skills and over all well-being. Our programmes also focus on sport and physical activity which contributes to the health and well-being of children.

  • Doodle den programs:

Doodle den is an after school programme which promotes literacy development of children in senior infants class.

  • Swimming; We take children swimming once a week.
  • Arts and Crafts; We do arts and crafts activities on alternate days.
  • Tennis; Two week tennis coaching during month of July.
  • Football; We run football on alternate days.
  • Drop Everything and Read. This programme runs on a daily basis and is aimed at fostering a love of reading by encouraging children to read books which they choose themselves.
  • Cooking; The Cooking programme is both fun and educational and takes place once a week.
  • Capacitar:

Capacitar for children is a program in Multi-cultural Wellness Education for all children, schools and families. The program is based on the work of Capacitar International whose vision is “healing ourselves and healing our world”.

  • Residential trips:

Each summer we host a two day residential trip to the Cavan Centre in Ballyjamesduff. During these two days the children take part in structured programmes of activities with an emphasis on fun and physical activity.

Music Education Programme:

Recently CASPr developed a Music Education Programme which 20 children now participate in. This initiative was inspired by similar Music Education projects in Ireland and internationally, which have been demonstrated to significantly improve the outcomes of young people who participate in them.
